Mike Cowdroy and Intensive Care Foundation Trust

Peter and Annie Cowdroy established the Mike Cowdroy and Intensive Care Foundation Trust in memory of their son, Mike Cowdroy, a well-known country rock musician from the band Southbound, who died in intensive care after a horrific car crash in 2003. To date $25,000 has been raised by the friends, family and community for the Mike Cowdroy and Intensive Care Foundation Trust.

"This trust will provide an ongoing benefit in the area of rural intensive care education and training for nurses," said Peter Cowdroy.

To ensure an ongoing commitment to the intensive care community, Peter and Annie placed the Trust under the care of the Intensive Care Foundation where the income earned from the trust will be used to fund an education grant for rural nurses to be awarded annually. This specific grant will cover travel, registration and per diem, of one rural critical care nurse to attend the ANZICS/ACCCN Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM).

The Intensive Care Foundation is exceptionally grateful for the kindness and generosity of Mike Cowdroy's family and friends. The joint rural committee of the ANZICS/JFICM, in conjunction with the ACCCN, will assess applications and choose the most suitable recipient for the award each year.

The Mike Cowdroy Grant is being reviewed and unavailable at his time - once amended application forms will be available here. For further information contact the Foundation on +61 3 9340 3444
